  1. Sorry, this is a different Crossley Hospital, I think the one you are looking for was run by the red cross!

  3. Nice website. Very interesting. I just wondered is this the Crossley Hospital that was used as a maternity hospital in 1969? I believe I was born there but cannot find any information that mentions maternity. Many thanks if you can offer any help.

  4. Great site, good to see someone has set up a site for this place. I lived in Frodsham for many years as a youngster and often visited Crossley like many others.

Its brilliant to see such a wonderful place be turned into something special - instead of a sad windowless wreck.

I love the Frodsham website, Will sort some old pics out for you,,

  5. This place was open as a nursing home when I was younger, I was always told to stay away from crossley.

Living just 5 mins away, I always did what I was told not to do.

When It closed, me and friends always went to crossley and sometimes spent hours there playing in the old ambulance behind the mortuary and on the rusty play area.

We sometimes saw older people climing the fences and going in the main building - coming out with all kinds, light switches to wooden floors, the whole place was robbed.

My brother took every single brass door handle from crossley and sold them for quite a bit of money.

A lot of stories are going around about crossley.

I do remember when the owner hung himself in the woods near by. And also sightings of monks in the woods.

Please share your memories about this place.
